Susan's Story
Life
I've been single now for about two years, after having been married for 23 years. I have two children, Stormy 27 and Brandon 22. Adults now living their own lives. I have a very beautiful granddaughter, Trinnity, who's now 5. Trinnity puts the sparkle in my eye! She loves me loving her, doting on her and doing for her. She really grounds me, filling that void in my life and she's given back some of those years I was robbed of (making me feel a few years younger). We live in Georgia and outside my kids I have no other family here. My parents retired in Louisiana and shortly after that I lost my mom to a brain tumor. I lost my best friend. My father remarried and he and his wife still live Louisiana. I guess Louisiana will always represent "HOME" to me... But in my heart, my home is being near my kids, watching them grow in their lives, being their friend and being able to Spoil my granddaugher.
I do miss the military life. I met so many wonderful people, sharing so much with them. I was fortunate enough to be able to live in the Phillipines, Italy, Japan and Panama, as well as all ...Expand for more
over the U.S., experiencing first hand so many different cultures. First a military brat, then a military spouse, it was the only life I knew. I've been in Georgia since 1995 and I guess in many ways I still havent adapted entirely to the Civilian Life. I still get that hankering to up and move, making new beginnings, new friends and trying out new adventures.
I currently live in Douglasville, Ga. My daughter (also divorced) and I share a home together and I love it. We've delveloped a close relationship and consider ourselves to be close friends.
I'm not really sure what I'll be doing in the next few years but for now I'm re-discovering who I am and what I want to do for me. Having been able to do this and to find peace with myself I can finally move on and consider dating again. Wow! Just the word "dating" sounds so out of my league and almost school girlish! Hopefully I'll meet a gentleman who shares many of the same interests I ahve, who wants to experience life, learning new things, going to new places, not afraid of doing the unknown! Reverting back to the golden days of our youth! haha
